About Sigiriya

Sigiriya’s Lion Rock, a 5th-century fortress on top of a giant granite boulder, is one of Sri Lanka’s most famous sights. Neighbouring Pidurangala rock gives the classic view back towards it, best at sunrise.

It is a great base for the Cultural Triangle: Dambulla’s cave temples, Polonnaruwa and elephant safaris at Minneriya are all close by.
